Debate Like a Champ is a youth-led debating workshop developed to help young people hone their communication skills while exploring topics in children’s rights to a safe and clean environment. The KitaConnect Champions have showcased their debating skills on the motion, “This house would encourage school children to strike for climate change.”
According to Victor, 17, young people who participate in school strike movements are at high risk of being negatively misrepresented in media coverage which will invite more backlash toward young activists and reduce the impact of the movement.
